Myth: Extensions are only suitable for clients who want to add length.

Fact: While the term extension implies length, hair extensions are actually a versatile tool that can be used to add volume, color and highlights and are not only suitable for those clients wanting longer hair.

If your clients want volume, or are not sure about coloring, extensions can be used to spice up any look without any chemicals or dyes. Extensions can also be used to create shorter styles using the sew-on weaving method, so that clients can enjoy a short look without cutting their own hair. Hair extensions can also be used by clients suffering hair loss, bald patches or thinning hair to create a full head of locks.

Myth: I won't be able to color my clients' hair if they have extensions.

Fact: We supply the finest European hair for extensions, which can be matched exactly with the client's hair and will not require coloring. European hair has a similar structure to our hair, so can be colored, whereas Asian or processed hair is more porous and reacts differently. It comes in a wide range of colors that can easily be matched to blend with the client's colored hair. Fiber on the other hand is a form of plastic and cannot be colored.

Myth: Hair extensions will damage my hair.

Fact: Myself and two of my colleagues have been wearing hair extensions for the last ten years and we can't live without them. If applied by a fully qualified and experienced technician, then clients can achieve volume lengths and color without the possible damage of strong tints and over-processed perms.

Extensions must be comfortable and well placed, and, providing the extension is well positioned and lies naturally with the client's own hair, then damage is unlikely. Unfortunately, everyone can see a bad job, whereas good jobs go unnoticed.
